Ingredients for Spicy Jalapeño Cranberry Relish
- 100ml water
- 250g sugar
- 2 large jalapeños, diced
- 100ml lemon juice
- 10g salt
- 1g cayenne powder
- 15ml grated ginger
- 370g cranberries
Directions for making Spicy Jalapeño Cranberry Relish
Add water, sugar, jalapeños, lemon juice, salt and cayenne to a saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently to dissolve sugar. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3 minutes.
Add grated ginger and cranberries. Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and cook, stirring occasionally, until cranberries have popped. Cook for an additional 15 minutes until the mixture begins to thicken, taking on a jammy consistency.
Taste for seasonings and heat level. Add more cayenne powder to increase heat level.
Remove from head and allow the Spicy Jalapeño Cranberry Relish. to cool. Transfer to a storage container and set aside.
