Forget all of your New Year resolutions. The only resolution you should have for this year is checking out all of the burger offerings in the Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle. This major South Dakota event gives you 31 days, the entire month of January, to try specialty burgers from 39 different Sioux Falls restaurants. You will need to get social to participate in the Sioux Falls Burger Battle. Take a picture of your burger and post on social media tagging @downtownsiouxfalls, @poetbiofuels, and the local restaurant.

In Bismark, ND, local restaurants go head to head in in this challenge for the title of "Best Burger!" For the month of January, participating restaurants are serving up a unique burgers which are only available during the month of January. These delectable creations are sure to satisfy that post New Year craving for something other than turkey.

After enjoying these fabulous burgers, customers have the opportunity to vote on each burger in five different categories:

• patty
• bun
• topping
• creativity
• customer service

At the end of January, the votes will be tablulated and the restaurant with the highest score wins a championship belt and a year’s worth of bragging rights.

Instructions for the “Merry Burger Battle”, in downtown Davis. CA, are to “visit any downtown restraurant and try a burger.” Then you can vote online for the restaurant with your favorite burger. Simple and straight-forward, right?

This January, Pasadena is celebrating the birth of the Cheeseburger. in Pasadena in 1924.

The 2026 Cheeseburger Week runs from January 26 to January 31. Enjoy a cheeseburger or two in honor of Lionel Sternberger, the culinary genius who was the first to put cheese on a hamburger. If you are in the Great Lakes region of Iowa, known to many as Okoboji, stop by one of the many restaurants entered in this month-long competition. Restaurants are in Okoboji, Spirit Lake (MN), Lakefield, and Arnolds Park. Plenty of tasty burgers to choose from. With a whole month, perhaps you can have more than one. 

Your next great adventure is in Santa Barbara, Ca for Burger Week 2026. Local restaurants will be serving up specially crafted burgers for only $10. A great price that is easy on the pocketbooks. These unique burgers will certainly showcase the culinary prowess of local burger joints and likely satisfy the hungry food enthusiasts. You only have a week to tame these ferocious burgers. So don't delay.

I'm guessing that you thought Cabarrus County in North Carolina is only known af the home of the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Well, it is also known for Cabarras Burger Madness! Thirty-one days of delicous burgers to be exact. This year, 25 competitors are in this friendly race to see which establishment lands the pole position. So hop in the car, buckle up, start your engines and head to the communities of Concord, Harrisburg, Kannapolis, Midland, Mount Pleasant and Charlotte and find yourself one of the many amazing burgers this month.

Visit Owensboro (Kentucky) is giving you 10 days to try many of the amazing burgers that are showcased in the Owensboro Burger Week. I am guessing there will be close to 50 burger creations from 50 different restaurants. That many burgers is quite the challenge in only 10 days. What makes it even better is that burgers will be available for only $8 each. So, put on your stretchy pants and get to it. The clock is ticking.

Next stop on the Cheeseburger Guru calendar is the Gwinnett Burger Week. This burger battle covers multiple cities in Gwinnett County (near Atlanta, GA). Twenty-three restaurants in the cities of Lawrenceville, Buford, Duluth, Norcross, Peachtree Corners, Suanee, Lilburn, and Dacula will face off in this culinary challenge.

It is beautiful in Tennessee during the month of April and what better time than to host the Chattanoga Burger Week. Thirty-one restaurants will be serving up delicious $8 burgers for hungry burger enthusiasts. Be sure to download the app for Apple or Android so you can view the burgers, find drink specials, and create a map so you can try as many burgers as possible. Earn points toward being the "Biggest Burger Lover" in Chattanooga.

Up in the "Great White North," the Halifax Burger Bash has a city-wide burger-eating event that will surely tikle your tastebuds. This amazin event is a fundraiser for Feed Nova Scotia organized by The Coast. During this burger bash, you will find burger offerings with either a special set price or a higher price with the restaurant making a donation to Feed Nova Scotia from every burger sold.

This event will have patrons visit restraunts throughout the city in search of the best burger.

The American River Parkway Foundation pulls all the stops to bring you the ultimate burger battle - The American River Burger Battle! This one-day event showcases the talents of eight burger chefs who will create a selection of mouthwatering burgers. Celebrity judges will pick the champion of this burger showdown. Will also inclued a "People's Choice" award.

For a whole week, Southern California pays homage to the amazing burger (hopefully with cheese) by bringing the community together to celebate the people who create the best of this culinary classic.
